Basic Rigging and Inspection Course is designed to provide participants with a basic level of knowledge of rigging gear inspection, proper rigging procedures, and load control using typical rigging techniques. Classroom interactive, and problem-solving workshops. Basic Rigging & Inspection is the ideal foundational skill and knowledge building course for those new to cranes, rigging, and load handling.
Learning Objectives:
- Rigging Introduction - Basic rigging terms, rigging gear capacity and use, and identify load control methods with various sling hitches.
- Rigging Inspection - Recognize and evaluate field-damaged rigging gear samples according to the guidelines established by recognized industry standards.
- Rigging Selection - Select slings and rigging hardware based on the anticipated loading and rigging method.
- Load Handling Activities - Recognize common load handling hazards, blocking practices, crane hand signals, and path of travel; as well as an introduction to completing a standard lift plan.
- Equipment Testing - Understand the testing requirements of rigging gear according to the guidelines established by recognized industry standards.
- Rigging Knots - Become familiar with the basic knots utilized in rigging
- Sling and Hardware Applications - Become familiar with good rigging practices.
