Thank You Regional Meeting Sponsors!

Every year MBI hosts Regional Meetings around the state in an effort to better connect with our membership, and these meetings would not be possible without our generous sponsors.

These are companies that have made the decision to support MBI while gaining access to an audience that can help further their business.

We want to give a large and sincere THANK YOU to the companies below!

MBI Awards - Get Your Team Recognized!

Each year Master Builders of Iowa recognizes companies and individuals with Iowa’s commercial construction industry for outstanding projects, safety, workforce development efforts, and career longevity.  In conjunction with the annual winter conference, MBI recognizes the outstanding efforts of several companies and employees to shed light on the importance of quality workmanship and teamwork in the commercial construction industry.

Shine the Spotlight on Your Field Staff

During Construction Week 2018 (Oct. 1-5), we will “shine the spotlight” on exceptional field workers of our member firms on social media and in our communication pieces.

We are asking our members to submit exceptional field staff to shine the spotlight on them during Construction Week! We will post all submissions throughout the week on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.  We will also create a photo gallery of all submissions on our website and they will be featured in the Winter Edition of the InsideMBI magazine.

Simply return the submission form and a high-resolution photo of your exceptional field worker to Aly Schmidt at aschmidt@mbionline.com by Thursday, September 27! Please limit your submissions to 5 individuals per company (MBI member firms only).

Does your company get involved with local schools?

Being involved with local schools is probably the most important part of the entire Construction Week campaign when you consider that the main goal is to educate students, parents, teachers and counselors about the opportunities for great careers in construction after high school graduation.  As a contractor, think of Construction Week as a reminder to get involved with your local school districts, or even a reason to start a program for those of you that are not currently involved with local schools.

Build Iowa Initiative

In the construction business, job sites are full of problems that need to be solved and obstacles that need to be overcome.  But what about the problems facing your company that can’t be solved on the job site? How do you remedy those issues that can’t be dealt with in a day, week, or even a year? Tackling these issues requires an overall industry perspective and a collective industry effort.

Get More Involved in Your Industry – Join a Committee!

MBI is fortunate to have a significant number of individuals who are willing to devote their time, talent and expertise to the Association and give back to the industry in a productive and meaningful way.  The MBI committee system is the backbone of the Association and is responsible for generating the many services, new ideas and policies that reflect the desires and needs of an ever changing industry.  Committee members travel from all over the state to participate in meetings designed to inform and produce programs and services that reflect the needs of the membership.

What is the Master Builder Designation Program?

The Master Builder Designation is a program that was started by Master Builders of Iowa just prior to the 2012-13 training season.  The notion of the program is to encourage employees of MBI firms to strive for lifelong learning in the construction industry by granting credits for each course or program attended.

Credits are awarded in the areas of Leadership, Project Management, Ecological Construction, Ethics, and Safety with virtually every education program that MBI offers providing credits in one or more of these critical areas.  The Master Builder Designation is earned when an individual reaches 150 credits.

Upon completion of the 150 credits, the individual will be recognized at the next Annual Winter Conference.  In addition, Master Builders of Iowa has worked with artists and designers to create a unique award to denote the significance of this accomplishment that will be presented to recipients at the Annual Winter Conference.

All you have to do is fill out the application form to start tracking your credits for the Master Builder Designation.  If you have any questions, please contact Tom Fulcher at (515) 657-4395 or tfulcher@mbionline.com
