MB “EYE” ON THE FUTURE – The Course For Our Industry
WHO WE ARE
MBEye on the Future is a premiere issues awareness program promoting leadership within the construction industry. We educate, challenge and inspire our participants to bring out their inherent quality to “point the way.” The ultimate goal is to instill passion in our current and emerging leaders while foresting a high level of industry involvement.
It is the goal of MBEye on the Future to discover and cultivate individuals to become industry leaders at the local, state and national levels.
A real “eye-opener,” MBEye on the Future gives its participants a full spectrum vision of the industry and new perspective on its people, its needs and most importantly, its opportunities.
WHAT WE OFFER
MBEye on the Future gives participants a wide range of experiences and insights that focus on the issues and challenges facing Iowa’s construction industry. Through this enhancement of awareness, the program equips leaders to better appreciate and understand the condition of the entire industry. What is more, those selected for the program build a network with fellow participants that reach across geographic, professional and economic lines. This network is personally enriching far beyond the program year.
THE SELECTION
MBEye on the Future candidates are nominated by company officers for the program. A committee evaluates each application and makes its selections based on several criteria. The leadership potential of the individual is certainly a major factor. Bu t beyond that, the diversity of the group is also strongly considered. We know the value of the synergy that develops when people gather from a wide continuum of experiences and places.
Nominations are open to Master Builder of Iowa members only. You are welcome to nominate more than one individual from a company but bear in mind that the selection committee will attempt to make the class as diverse as possible from the field of nominees. Once a nomination form is received, an application form will be sent to the nominee.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
MBEye on the Future hosts an integrated series of six monthly sessions in different regions of the state. The program begins in August and runs through January. Most sessions begin at midmorning on Thursday and end midday in Friday. Topics for the group typically include HR/safety, project delivery systems, HR/labor relations, education, personal growth, legislative and other pertinent issues facing the industry. Each session features presentations by acknowledged leaders and experts in their respective fields. In addition, a variety of other learning activities is incorporated for further leadership development.
THE PROGRAM COST
MBEye on the Future charges a tuition fee of $500. In addition, participants are responsible for lodging and travel. We are confident that employers are not only willing, bur eager to underwrite the cost. We believe the benefits of sending employees through the program far outweigh the expense.
