NOMINATE OR PARTICIPATE IN THE MBI AWARDS PROGRAM INITIATIVES

A great and rewarding way to “get involved” is to nominate or participate in the recognition programs that the MBI has to offer.  The Master Builders of Iowa recognizes member’s accomplishments through award programs that highlight excellence in industry initiatives and that represent the tenets of our Association:  Skill – Integrity – Responsibility.

Each year, the MBI recognition programs are sought after by the best in Iowa’s commercial construction industry.  The awards and recognition programs celebrate the success of MBI member companies and spotlight individual and company-wide accomplishments.  They are a wonderful way to recognize leaders in the industry as well as award outstanding projects.

The awards are announced at the MBI Annual Convention.  This year’s convention is scheduled for February 20-22, 2012 at the Iowa Events Center.

MBI Recognition Programs

Build Iowa Award – The Build Iowa Award is one of the most prestigious distinctions an MBI member can achieve.  Inspired by the MBI motto, the Build Iowa Award is presented each year to the individual who best exemplifies the tenets of our organization:  Skill, Integrity & Responsibility.  Any general contractor or associate member may nominate an active or retired member.

Masters Award – The Masters Award has been created to recognize the exceptional efforts of a construction team in executing the process of completing a project.  Although an asthetically pleasing and functional design is always part of a successful project, it is not a criterion for selection of this award.  This award is meant to recognize the role of the constructor.  As such, projects should reflect good management skills, imagination, perseverance under unusual and challenging conditions, and/or innovative construction techniques.

Outstanding Safety Achievement Award – The overall goal is to encourage and recognize significant achievements in work place safety.  The process solicits the best practices in accident prevention and promotes the sharing of the industry’s best achievements to advance safety at all levels.
