Jobsite Safety Management
The safety of workers on a construction site must be as important as quality and efficiency. It must be managed with foresight and rigor just as they are. It cannot be an afterthought. Planning for safety should start when planning begins for everything else. The thought process should be on how to accomplish the task in a safe and efficient manner while providing the quality the owner expects.
The responsibility of implementing the plans to construct a building falls on the superintendent. Of course he/she has resources to help but making sure the final product has been built without injuring workers, with the quality expected and within the time frame promised pretty much falls on the superintendent. A seminar MBI is hosting in Cedar Rapids on December 15th, will present ways the superintendent can start off on the right foot and continue throughout the project making sure the safety effort does not waiver. The presenter, Brian Smith, has over 15 years experience teaching safety practices and procedures needed on jobsite to make sure everyone goes home at the end of the day.
