Charles W. Seedorff

Charles (Bill) Seedorff, Founder of Seedorff Masonry, Inc., passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the age of 77.  Bill was a true leader throughout our community and the construction industry.  He will be remembered for his many contributions and for the strong foundation he laid while forming Seedorff Masonry and their team.  Bill will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and many business associates who grew to know and love him over the past 50 + years. 

Within the masonry industry, Bill served as Chairman of the Iowa Chapter of the Mason Contractors Association of America and the first Chairman of the Master Builders of Iowa’s Associate Council.  He was also instrumental in creating the Masonry Institute of Iowa.

Recognized for his commitment to excellence within the construction industry and contributions to his community, Bill was honored as the recipient of the Master Builders of Iowa Build Iowa Award in 1993, the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award from the Lions International Association. in 1995, and he was inducted as a Laureate into the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame in 2004. 

In 2009, Bill furthered his legacy of generosity and community service with a contribution to the Charles W. (Bill) Seedorff Gymnasium at West Delaware High School.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bill Seedorff Memorial Fund.  All contributions will be given in Bill’s memory to the Good Neighbor Home in sincere appreciation for the loving care provided to him over the past three years.
