Multicultural Communications

The participation of Latinos in the construction industry has been continuously growing. From 2001 to 2006 these group expanded from 18% to over 20% of the construction workforce, accounting for more than 1.3 million of workers today. Latinos have the highest fatality rate in construction in comparison with any other cultural or race groups in the United States and ‘communications’ have been identified as the number one reason for Latinos’s poor safety record.

One of the tools we have developed to address this issue is the easy-to-use and easy-for-training handbook which incorporates comprehension material on pronunciation, craft, culture and safety; packaged in the most effective approach to train multicultural crews.

This Handbook on the Essential Resource for the Multicultural Construction Industry meets the demand for the current need to improve productive relationships and communications between American and Latino craft workers.

We are happy to offer the members the opportunity use this important resource. CLICK Here to access the various modules in pdf form. You can also request for more modules and a formal handbook by contacting Fernando Aveiga (E) faveiga@mbionline.com or (C) 515-250-4485.
