The 2011/12 class decided to coordinate their class project with MBI's 100th Anniversary. The class decided to develop a time capsule that would be opened in fifty years. The capsule would be a sculpture in which a waterproof container would hold current items popular in today's society. Some of the class members hope to still be around in 2062 to witness the opening of the time capsule!

The container’s contents were donated by class participants and include: hand miter box, tee handle for opening/closing an acetylene tank, tool to break off Allen ties of plywood forms, Scale Master roller wheel, flash drive, ruler scale, Blackberry cell phone, laptop computer and mouse, LEED product samples, copy of ENR Magazine’s top 400 contractors, digital camera, brochures of various construction related equipment w/price sheet, copy of AIA contract, price list of current materials, 2012 MBI masters awards ceremony DVD, concrete volume calculator and miscellaneous MBI literature.

The sculpture was designed and made by Themescapes, Inc. of Forrest Lake, MN. It has been permanently installed on the west side of the MBI office through the help of Themescapes, Neumann Brothers, Inc., and Star Equipment.

Testimonials from MBEye on the Future 2012 Class

' This class has allowed me to grow as a professional project manager with in my company. This class has given me the opportunity to meet other project managers and build lifelong friendships.'
Jason Hall

'This course not only provided me with the skills to become a better leader and listener, but it also provided me the skills to become a better person.'
Rod Schumacher, Conlon Construction Co.

'MB Eye on the Future provided an opportunity to meet and foster relationships with peers I would likely never have had the chance to know, the networking alone is worth the cost of the class. The chance to develop and hone my public speaking and management skills in a comfortable setting along with Ken Bradford’s positive influence has, without question, made me a better leader.'
Rob Davis, Bush Construction Company, Inc.

'While increasing our leadership skills, this course also allowed us to develop relationships that we will maintain for a life time. These relationships will allow the construction industry in Iowa to grow quicker, be more influential, and help develop future leaders.'
Matt Davis, Neumann Brothers, Inc.
