The 2nd year of the MB EYE on the Future Program was comprised of 17 leaders. In addition to extensive leadership training and networking each class is asked to identify and implement a class project that will involve an industry or MBI improvement initiative. The 2005/2006 class decided to develop a pilot program for the ACE Mentor Program. This national program was created to help high school students gain an understanding of the amazing career opportunities in three fields Architecture, Construction and Engineering. The program started in 2006 with one team from Roosevelt High School and has grown steadily over the years. The 2009 class had 68 students, 28 mentors and represented 10 high schools in the metro area. Over $25,000 in scholarships have already been awarded to deserving high school students. Thanks to this class, what started as a pilot program is rapidly becoming a standard for students interested in our industries!
