Invite Contractors to Your School or Visit a Jobsite
Parents, academic advisors and students often wonder why construction jobsites restrict access to the public. The access is restricted to the public for industrial security reasons. However, these restrictions have prevented the public to learn and understand the many
exciting experiences happening on a construction jobsite. For this reason, contractors in Iowa, in an effort to share with the community the construction experience is now inviting schools to visit their construction projects. In this case, a construction professional will tour the visitors making sure they use proper safety equipment and are safe at all times. In addition, contractors are now reaching more schools. Not only the ACE Mentor program has made major efforts of bringing construction professionals to schools, but also independent contractors are sharing their time to try to help students envision how a career in construction would be for them.
