Are you certified? All Contractors performing work that disturbs lead-based paint in homes or where children are present will have to become EPA-certified renovators. Complete this EPA-accredited training course to get certified!
As of April 22, 2010, EPA regulations became effective that require specific duties of those doing renovation, remodeling and repainting (RRP) in child-occupied structures built before 1978. One of those duties is to have a 'Lead-Safe Renovator' on site. This individual must be certified by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), who requires successful passing of an 8-hr. course before application is made.
