Davis Bacon Act

The Davis Bacon Act covers all federal and federally assisted construction projects.
The mainstay of the law is to require the payment of prevailing wages to craft workers employed on federal projects. The prevailing wages are determined by the Department of Labor and are applied on a project by project basis. It is essential for all firms who are planning to or are working on federal projects to become familiar with the compliance criteria under the act. Knowledge of the law is imperative for contractors to know their rights under the act, as well, and the responsibilities of all parties in performance of the law.

The information contained herein is made available through the Department of Labor and provides valuable insights into the working of the law. We have included links that are helpful guides to administer the law and are recommended reading for owners, awarding authorities, design professionals and the contracting industry.
